“Semi-recline”
“Needs constant suction”
Do you see these written on your patient’s chart and just cringe? You know the next hour or so is going to be spent catering to someone else’s aches and pains while simultaneously causing your own.
We know the correct ergonomic positions to be in. But if you really stop and analyze your day, how many patients do you accommodate at your own expense?
We’re taught to adapt our patients to us, but let’s be honest…that’s almost never the reality—especially with the aging population.

This checklist will help you mindfully check in with yourself as you’re working on patients and make simple adjustments to avoid excess stress and strain on your body.
You’ll be amazed at how small adjustments can leave you with more energy at the end of your day!
